At Second Chance Plushies, we believe that every plush deserves another chance.
Our mission is simple: rescue plush toys, restore them to excellent condition, and find them new homes instead of allowing them to end up in landfills. What others may see as an old, dirty, or unwanted stuffed animal, we see as a treasure waiting to be brought back to life.
Giving Plushies a Second Chance
Second Chance Plushies was created out of a love for plush toys and a desire to make a difference. Every year, countless stuffed animals are discarded simply because they are dirty, worn, or no longer wanted. Many of these plush toys still have plenty of life left in them.
That's where we come in.
Our plush rehabilitation process can involve careful cleaning, washing, drying, brushing, de-matting, stain treatment, repairs, grooming, and plenty of patience. Each plush is evaluated individually because no two toys are exactly alike. We take the time to determine what each one needs so that it can look, feel, and smell its best before finding its next home.
The goal isn't to make every plush look brand new. It's to restore each one as beautifully as possible while preserving the character and charm that made it special in the first place.
A plush that might have otherwise been thrown away can instead become someone's new favorite.
Saving Plushies From the Landfill
One of the biggest reasons Second Chance Plushies exists is to help reduce unnecessary waste.
Stuffed animals are often made from a combination of fabrics, synthetic fibers, plastic components, and other materials that aren't easily recycled. When they're thrown into the trash or donated to a thrift store, they can ultimately end up sitting in a landfill for years.
We believe that reuse is better than waste whenever possible.
By rescuing plush toys, rehabilitating them, and giving them new homes, we're helping extend the life of something that might otherwise have been discarded. It's a small action that can make a meaningful difference when repeated, one plushie at a time.
And the journey doesn't end when a plush is cleaned. We carefully photograph and list our rehabilitated plushies so that collectors, children, families, and plush lovers can give them the loving homes they deserve at reasonable, affordable prices.
More Than a Plush Shop
Second Chance Plushies is about much more than buying and selling stuffed animals.
We're also passionate about giving back to our community. A portion of our rescued plush journey includes donating plush toys to local charities and organizations that support children. We love the idea that a plushie rescued from the trash can eventually end up bringing comfort, companionship, and happiness to a child who needs it.
It's a full-circle journey: rescue, rehab, rehome, and give back.
Donations Accepted
We also welcome plush toy donations from across the country. If you have plushies sitting in your home that you no longer need but don't want to throw away, they may have another chapter waiting for them. Donated plushies can become part of our rehabilitation program and, when appropriate, be sold to help support our mission or donated directly to children and local charitable organizations.
